Join us for an in-store prerelease for the latest Magic: The Gathering set, The Hobbit. This is a casual, "Regular REL" event designed for players to explore the new cards together.
Registration & Capacity
Seating is capped at 32 players. We recommend registering through our web store or in person to secure your spot.
Event Structure
Each player will receive a Prerelease Pack containing 6 Play Boosters, a foil-stamped promo card, and a spindown life counter. You will have 50 minutes to build a deck of at least 40 cards using your kit's contents and basic lands (provided by the store).
The tournament consists of 3 fixed Swiss rounds. The Swiss pairing method ensures you are paired against players with a similar record each round, and there is no elimination—everyone plays all three rounds.
Round Length: 50 minutes.
Match Format: Best 2-of-3 games.
End of Round: When time is called, the active player finishes their turn, followed by 5 additional turns. If no winner is determined, the match is a draw.
Prize Distribution
Prizes are awarded based on your final match record after the 3rd round:
3 Wins (3-0): 6 Play Boosters
2 Wins (2-1): 4 Play Boosters
1 Win (1-2): 2 Play Boosters
0 Wins (0-3): 1 Play Booster
